The WSET Level 1 Award in Wines course is aimed at those working in the hospitality or wine retail sector or wine lovers seeking more formal wine education. Through a combination of tasting and theory, you’ll explore the main types and styles of wine through sight, smell, and taste, while also gaining the basic skills to describe wines accurately, and make food and wine pairings.
Delivery
This course is a 4-week, 5 module online learning programme with educator support available for this time. The course modules should be followed in sequential order during this 4-week window. The course material should take about 6 hours in total to complete, plus revision time. Regular access and participation in the course online activities is essential for this mode of study.

Assessment
There is an exam of 30 multiple-choice questions that will be sat in your own home with remote invigilation. The exam must be completed in 45 minutes and the date and time of the exam will be arranged to suit you. This is an accredited course and all candidates who successfully complete the examination are awarded the WSET Level 1 Award in Wine certificate and lapel pin.
Equipment (optional extra - add $120)
There are a number of items required to complete the practical activities involved in this course including;
10 x 50ml wine samples
acid and sugar solutions
MSG powder, salt and a sweet biscuit
a tasting mat
a mock exam and sealed answers
The workbook is all included within the Online Classroom

Please note: no refunds will be issued within 5 working days prior to the start of the course. Before that period a 75% refund is allowed if a student cancels their enrolment. A 100% refund will apply if Archive Academy cancels. Please note there is a re-sit exam fee of $200 if a student does not attend the exam for any reason.
